DRAFT members Jeff Fortney & Darren link took a Silver Medal Best in Show for their Schwartzbier at the Ohio State Fair.

At Beer & Swear in Cinci Jeff & Darren took Silver in Amber and Dark Lager flight.
Dave Williamson took silver in Pale Ales
Jeff Fortney got an HM in Stouts

Hops Over the Moon

I would like to personally thank all that participated in this years Boonshoft “Hops Over The Moon” event. Bobbie (event coordinator) was extremely happy to see how we merged their theme for the year into the beer we brewed. The ales that Darren Link made, Lemongrass-Ginger and Honey-Basil, were handed out as samples. These rapidly became the hit of the party. While Gus and Chris brewed each night on sight, Dan, Casey, Mike Schwartz, Darren and myself were on hand to talk with the crowd, distribute literature and hand out samples of beer, cheese and homemade sodas. What a great collaboration between BrewTensils and DRAFT. If you missed it, all I can say is look for it again at this time next year.

There is a registration issue on the site right now. The the registration is setting up your account. Some people are having trouble with the password emailed to them after registration. Please email webmaster@daytondraft.org and I will manually reset your password to get you registerable.
Wood and Smoked Beers will stay available through today, in order to accommodate everyone.

What an awesome meeting and Brewout weekend!  Gordon gave a great presentation and DRAFT brewers are fire up for competitions!  Smoked beers is up over 15 entries, with more coming!  A great time was had by all, and pictures can be found here.  I don’t know why the thumbnails didn’t create, just click Start Slideshow to browse the images.

Mike and Darren also hosted the June Brewout and Swap Meet, several kegs, brew kettles, burners and other brewing equipment changed hands.  Many people learned something new about brewing, and a great time was had by all.
